Mission Statement
The Mission of the Calhoun County Tea Party Patriots is to generally promote limited government, individual liberty, respect for the Constitution as the principles upon which this nation was founded and restore political accountability. We seek to return God to prominence in; our schools, public places and society as a whole as intended by our Founding Fathers.

In a nutshell...
We are proud Americans and Conservative thinkers. Not being a religion or ideology, our conservatism has no script and no model as we look to judge social order in the age in which we live. The attitudes we possess are sustained by our sentiments, and our sentiments seem to be second nature to us; a part of our make-up. We believe that society should progress but such progression should adhere to Constitutional permanence, not judiciary advocacy.
We believe in claims of liberty and in claims of authority. We base the future on the past, yet we value "orderly change” necessitated by circumstance and discussion. There are those with whom we are often times at odds regarding certain matters. This disagreement seems natural to us because it is about a respect we have for "best ideas" that come the way of thoughtful, reasoned, and honest debate.
It is our desire to support and influence conservative public policies, consistent with our “values”, at all levels of public government. We further desire to facilitate opposition to policies and politicians that do not resonate with our values and, we will lend support to bureaucrats and political candidates who do.

Core Principles
The Calhoun County Tea Party Patriots is a true grassroots organization. We are not united under a single political party or leader; however, we are united under the Core Principles.
They are:
• Respect for the Constitution
Our government is a republic based on our Constitution and we expect our elected officials to write laws that respect the
Constitution as written, or to lawfully amend the Constitution.
• Limited Government
Government at all levels has grown too big and too powerful, and as such is taking away individual freedoms and liberty.
We support a return to a smaller, less intrusive and more manageable government that answers to the people as the
Founders intended.
• Separation of Powers
The proper role of the Legislative Branch is to use plain language to write laws that, within the limits of the Constitution,
protect the rights and liberties of the individual citizen.
The proper role of the Executive Branch is to execute and enforce the Constitution and the laws written by the
Legislature.
The proper role of the Judicial Branch is to strictly interpret the Constitution and laws as written by the legislature.
Judges who legislate from the bench steal constitutional authority and thus liberty from the people.
• Protection of Individual Rights
As conceived in the Declaration of Independence, our nation guarantees that each individual is endowed by his Creator
with certain unalienable rights, those being; "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness." It is the responsibility of the
federal government, as defined in the Constitution, to protect the individual rights of the American citizen.
• Fiscal Responsibility and Transparency
Fiscal responsibility is the duty of all elected officials. Balanced budgets and transparency of expenditures is paramount
to public trust. Budget deficits represent generational theft.
• Free Trade and Commerce
Free trade between individuals and corporations is crucial to maintaining a prosperous civil society. Intrusion of the
Federal government in the banking, financial and corporate industries, and any governmental collusion with
corporations, unions or special interest groups is a violation of the Constitution.
• Taxes
We support the movement to replace the current system of tax codes with a fairer, flatter, more equitable system.
The United States is a capitalist nation where citizens have the right to prosper and accumulate individual wealth. We
vigorously oppose all policies which attempt to redistribute individual wealth and earned income through the
confiscation of tax revenue.
